### 3. How to Fish

1. Equip the **Fishing Rod** and the **Lure**.
2. Click the **Fishing Hole** in Prontera (187, 150).
3. **Stand still.** Your character casts, reels in and casts again **automatically**.
4. To stop, simply **walk away**.

Every cast costs **50,000 zeny**. Fishing stops by itself when your Rod or Lure breaks, you run out of zeny, or you are too heavy.

***

### 4. What You Can Catch

Each cast has a **50% chance** to catch something. When you do, you get **2 to 5 items** at once. Each item has a **10% chance** to be a **rare fish**, and everyone near you sees a message when you land one!

#### Rare fish

These are used by the **Master of Forge** and the **Smelting Smith** (Mining and smithing).

### 5. Durability

The **Rod** and **Lure** each have **120 durability** (120 casts).

* Every cast uses **1** from **both**. You get a warning at **20**.
* At **0** the item **breaks and is gone**. It can't be repaired, so trade for a new one.

{% hint style="warning" %}
120 casts cost **6,000,000 zeny**, so bring enough. Keep your weight low and leave free inventory space, or fishing stops.
{% endhint %}

### 6. Quick FAQ

**"You need both the rod and lure equipped to fish."** Equip the Fishing Rod and the Lure in your two accessory slots.

**Fishing stopped by itself.** Your Rod or Lure broke, you ran out of zeny, or you are too heavy. Check your chat for the reason.

**"...nothing this time."** That cast missed. Half of all casts catch nothing. Just keep fishing!

**Which jobs can fish?** All of them.
