# Mining

Mining (Mir4 Mining System)

Mining lets you dig ore nodes for **Draco Ore**, refine materials (Oridecon, Elunium), food boxes, crystals, coins and more. The better the ore's rarity, the better the loot.

This is a life-skill: you learn a Mining skill, craft a Pickaxe and Mine Hat, then go to the mine and dig.

### Quick Start

1. Learn the **Mining** skill from the **Master of Mining**.
2. Get a **Pickaxe** and a **Mine Hat** from the **Master of Forge** (or the mining shop).
3. Warp to the **Rudus Dungeon 4th Floor** mine.
4. Equip the Pickaxe (weapon) and Mine Hat (costume), stand next to an ore, and dig.

### Step 1 -- Learn the Mining skill

Go to the **Master of Mining**.

* Talk to him and choose to learn the skill.
* Cost: **1,000,000 zeny**.
* He will tell you to get a **Pickaxe** from the **Master of Forge**.

### Step 2 -- Get your tools

You need **two** items to mine:

| Item                          | Where it goes            |

| **Pickaxe** (Mining\_Pickaxe) | Weapon slot (right hand) |
| **Mine Hat** (Mine\_Helm)     | Costume top-head slot    |

**Where to get them:**

* **Master of Forge** -- `lhz_in02 285,26` (next room from the Master of Mining). He can craft and refine your Pickaxe and Mine Hat, and **sharpen** your Pickaxe.
* **Mir4 Mining Shop** (barter) -- trade materials + zeny:
  * **Pickaxe** -- 1,500,000 zeny + materials
  * **Mine Hat** -- 10,000,000 zeny + materials

> Tip: Refining your Pickaxe and Mine Hat at the Master of Forge improves them. You can refine safely up to **+4** without risk of breaking.

### Step 3 -- Go to the mine

The ore nodes spawn on the **Rudus Dungeon 4th Floor** (`sp_rudus4`).

* Use the **Warper NPC** -> **Dungeons** -> **Rudus Dungeon** -> **4th Floor**.
* The floor has about **50 ore nodes** that respawn roughly every **10 minutes**.

### Step 4 -- How to mine

1. **Equip** your Pickaxe (weapon) and your Mine Hat (costume top-head).
2. Walk right **next to** an ore node.
3. **Click** the ore to start mining. Your character keeps digging automatically until the node runs out.

**Requirements while mining (or it will stop):**

* You must have the **Mining skill** learned.
* **Pickaxe** equipped and **not too blunt** (see Durability).
* **Mine Hat** equipped.
* Your **inventory must not be overweight** (below 50% weight).
* Only **one player per ore node** -- if someone is already on it, find another.

### Ore rarities

Each node has a rarity shown in its title/color. Higher rarity = better drops.

| Rarity   | Color      |
| -------- | ---------- |
| Common   | Grey       |
| Uncommon | Light grey |
| Rare     | Green      |
| Epic     | Blue       |
| Legend   | Red        |

Some nodes are **Random** and will roll between Common and Uncommon.

### What you get

* **Draco Ore** of the matching rarity (Common / Uncommon / Rare / Epic / Legendary).
* When you stop or finish a node, you also receive about **25%** of what you mined as **Draco Stardust** (used to upgrade your Mining skill) plus tailings.
* Bonus drops depending on rarity, such as:
  * **Oridecon**, **Elunium**, refine ore stones
  * **Variety Food Boxes**
  * **Crystal of Life** and **PS crystals** (Epic/Legend)
  * **Buff scrolls** and **USD coins** on the rarer nodes

The higher the ore rarity, the higher the chance and quality of these bonus drops.

### Pickaxe durability

Your Pickaxe has **durability** that drops as you mine. When it gets **too blunt**, mining stops and you will be told to sharpen it.

* Go to the **Master of Forge** (`lhz_in02 285,26`) to **sharpen / repair** your Pickaxe.
* Keep an eye on durability so you are not interrupted mid-session.

### Upgrading your Mining skill

Return to the **Master of Mining** to raise your Mining skill level (up to Lv 10).

* Pay with **Draco Stardust** (any quality) that you collect while mining.
* Success chance is **fixed from Lv +2 to +5**, then **gradually lower from +6 to +10**.
* A higher Mining skill improves your mining results, so keep saving Stardust and level up.

### FAQ

**"You don't have the skill to mine!"** Learn the skill first from the Master of Mining (`lhz_in02 286,89`).

**"You must equip the Pickaxe / Mine Hat to mine!"** Equip the Pickaxe as your weapon and the Mine Hat in the costume top-head slot.

**"Your pickaxe is too blunt."** Sharpen it at the Master of Forge (`lhz_in02 285,26`).

**"Your inventory is full!"** Drop weight or store items -- you must be under 50% weight to mine.

**"X is mining. It is not possible to mine here!"** That node is taken. Move to a free ore node.

**"The mining system is temporarily disabled!"** Mining is off for maintenance. Try again later.
